I don't think it's anything wrong with me, as I'm happy as larry snuggled up in a big duvet on any other bed, even now...
Having said that, my girlfriend doesn't feel any of the problems I'm feeling with all this, and her side of the bed is just as warm.

I have Egyptian cotton sheets and duvet covers, so don't think there's much to gain from upgrading past there.
I'm not sure if just a cotton protector will do the trick - it's different to a cotton covered mattress, in that the heat can pass through the whole mattress better, but the protector isn't going to stop that build up underneath still on my current mattress.

The cool pad gel protector I received the other day (link in the earlier post) is actually insanely good, if you suffer hot flushes. It is actually cold for a long time - in fact, ironically, laid on it for half hour last night I had to get up and put a duvet under me as it was too cold!!! lol.

Maybe I'll keep on with the pad for a bit. Just need to put a few layers between me and it.

I don't think it is actually anything wrong with you as such, but it sounds like much of it could be phsycological. Or possibly some sort of hormone inbalance.

Without seeking medical help I would say you would be best to either just have a thinner top cover, and keep a window open.

    thanks for all the advice.
running with a thinner cover is I guess possible, but I do actually get cold if it's too thin - as the problem isn't that I'm too warm, it's just that after a period my body heat has warmed what I'm laid on which is waking me as its a discomfort laying on something warm.

Psychological - It wouldn't surprise me if that's got a play in it all now given the problems and changes I've had!!
