Hey guys was thinking of booking a holiday package through thomsons the place i wanted to go shows only one room left for the time i have in mind or want to go,i was wondering does thomson show different whats online compared to going into on of there shops, would or could they have the same place available in there shop also,as i would not mind a few others being able to book the same place, lets just say thomson and thomas cook are the only ones that offer the place in mind and now just thomson left,If would be good if a few of us could all end up at same place and be in same flight.
Is it worth calling thomsons or even paying a visit to them in the high street

Thomsons show "only one room remaining" signs quite frequently, even at the start of the season. Personally, I take them with a pinch of salt - I think they are come-ons to try to rush you into placing the booking there and then.
We've always found that we've got better deals with Thomsons by booking their holidays through Holiday Hypermarket. If you look at the bottom of their web page http://www.holidayhypermarket.co.uk/?gclid=CJua66j04agCFUFC4QodyCdqBw
You will see in small print:
Holiday Hypermarket is a trading name of TUI UK Retail Limited
so you are still dealing with the parent company of Thomsons anyway.
We chose a Thomsons holiday off the Thomsons web site this year and then rang HH. Not only did we get the holiday cheaper but we also got daytime flights - which were not available if booked directly with Thomsons - even though these flights are on a Thomsons plane.
They will also tailor-make a holiday for you - we got one two years ago. We found the hotel we wanted, but it was supposedly full. It seems that it was the planes that were full, as HH got us the hotel and booked us via a Turkish airline (which was excellent and had daytime flights). When we got there, the hotel was not full!0 -

I checked out the site which i have seen before and same place as only one room left the price was only £2 less with going through that site and times for flights was same,so maybe if this is only showing one room available there also means there is only one left,i just wondered if they maybe had more by calling or paying a visit to the thomson shopTreat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
For a while now, the THomson system has only shown the number of rooms needed in order to accommodate the number of people you have advised are goiong - ie if you put 2 people going, it will show just 1 twin bedded room. This is done, so i believe, to create a sense of urgency - Oh no, there is only 1 room left, we had better book it now.
Try putting more people into the enquiry. Chances are more rooms will then become available, but again it will be just enough rooms to fit the party size into.
However, just be careful, because it could well indeed be the last room remaining.

Tried that and shows not available so maybe is only one left, but my question is do thomsons look at the same bookings, places in there shops as we do online so say you seen something online would there be any chance they would have extra rooms in there shop, just wondered if there was maybe a selected amount given for people ordering online and say in the shop who say dont use or have a computer.
Would be nice if i could get a few family member in the same place or we have to make a choice other members of the party being somewhere else not too far away or we just look at somewhere else where we all can be,but to be honest the place i have in mind i do prefer.
It would be sort of important if we at least could all be on the same flight, and that we could travel to same airport and back home.
I did a quick search and i think but not 100% sure but first choice on some places to stay use thomsons flights also and on what i could see the same flight so that would at least be a bonus if we where all flying togetherTreat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
As far as i am aware, all stock is linked, so if it's available in the shop, it's available on the web - anf if there is only 1 room left then chances are once it's booked through either web or shop, it will take it off on the other option too.
After all, it's in THomson's interests to sell through all medias, otherwise people who only use agents might want a hotel that's only saleable through thomson website, and therefore miss out on a sale.
have you had a search to see if anyone else features the property?

If you have gone back to the Thomsons site without clearing your computer cookie folder, they will know that it is a repeat enquiry even if the details have changed.
Holiday companies store your enquiries on your computer in the cookie folder so that, if you return, they know what they last said to you. Usually this is to check if it is a quick return (i.e. you are about to buy) so that they can add a little extra onto the price this time to improve their margins - but also to ensure that they don't get caught out on other matters, too.
Try the same enquiry with your cookies cleared.
Also, try ringing HH on their 0800 number. We got nowhere on the website - it's just a transcription of the Thomsons site. Ring them, tell them the hotel you want, when you want to go, how many in the party and where they are going from - see what they come up with - that's how we did it. Don't tell them you've been enquiring on-line.
If you don't like the flight times, ask them if there are others - again, they didn't offer daytime flights until we said that we wouldn't buy the deal because of the night time flights they were stipulating.
Remember, even if it is the last room according to Thomsons, it might only be Thomson's last room. There may be others available directly from the hotel, which HH can book for you independently.0 -
Also, to answer your other question.....
We tried booking on-line and then afterwards going to a Thomsons' shop. They had exactly the same information as on their website, so there's nothing to gain there. That's why we ended up talking to HH again.0
