Thursday 12th May - What small DFW things will you be doing today?!

Morning all
Thanks for the good wishes for my poorly cat yesterday. He's at the vet's now, after a night of starvation, to be anaesthetised and x-rayed. Poor boy is feeling very sorry for himself, and not without good reason! I'll know a bit later how he will need to be treated. Meanwhile his brother left me a present of a half eaten bird on the doormat this morning. Lovely.
OH and I are not going to go away this weekend now, as, even though we have people who are willing to come and look after the cats, we'd probably spend most of our time wondering how he's doing, and I think as much familiarity as possible will be good for him whilst he recovers. We'll just reschedule for when things are more normal (whatever that is!)
Thanks to Pixie for starting us off
Pernicious, good luck with that interview today!
Jules28, sorry to hear about the difficulties with the creditor (and the tummy bug). I don't think it's daft not to want to stay home if you worry about them hassling you - especially if you're not feeling up to much. Hope you manage to get it all sorted quickly.
My list for the day:- checked online banking (and made sure there's enough for vet bill)
- check for surveys
- prepare a space for kitty in case, as suspected, he will need to be confined to a cage for a few weeks
- tackle my ludicrous ironing pile (where DOES it all come from?)
- have a cup of tea and a slice of banana cake I made yesterday - abstained this morning in sympathy for OH, who had to go for fasting blood tests
- lunch on leftovers
- dinner from stores/menu
- if possible, a trip to Morrisons with list and daughter later
- hang out washing on line
- try not to get sucked into aimless and time consuming internet browsing!
Have a good day, everyone

Hi everyone!
I love this thread, it's a great way to focus myself on what frugal activities I'm gonna indulge in today!
Sadly, can't continue yesterday and Tuesday's pattern of no spending at all, as there was no food in to take to work as leftovers. So instead I'm going to the supermarket near my work at lunch and take advantage of their "3 for 2" on ready meals offer - 3 filling and almost nutritious work lunches for £5 - I don't think that's too bad!
Also got a lift to work today as I was running late and will be walking back so no spends there.
Tonight I'm gonna work on my budget spreadsheet a little more so I don't go mad spending when I get paid, and then I'm going to list more stuff on Ebay.
Also got confused with dates - Payplan appointment is actually tonight! Very nervous!0 -
for me I have to do:
1. [STRIKE]hitch a lift with the OH to work [/STRIKE](luckily we work together as well as live together
)
2. Have a NSD
3. Eat lunch I prepared earlier!
4. Photograph / upload more stuff on eBay
5. Have people over to collect blinds they won on eBay
6. prepare for tomorrow's interview
7. Have a bath
8. Early to bed!Life is too short not to love what you do.0 -

Hi there :hello:
Good luck Perni
Jules - hope that all works out ok for you :grouphug:
Compliments - Fab news that you're moving out :j
Main task of the day is to find a new electricity supplier! Got a letter saying our dd has been reviewed for the following year and will be going up on 1 June from £37 a month to £85!!!!
How can they justify that?!! We've been on a special 'locked in' tarrif for about 2 years so we knew there would be a bit of a hike but that is just ridiculous for a tiny 1-bed flat and just two of us.
OH did a bit of digging last night and looks like the same supplier has a different tarrif that would be £50 a month so still a massive £35 saving, or it might be better to switch/get cashback etc.
Other things:- Sent OH's CV for him. Keeping fingers crossed as he would be ace at the job and get better pay than now (and there is a referral scheme so I would get £1k if he was made permanent!) :T But trying not to get our hopes up, given the way things have been going on the job hunt front.
- Emailed friends so won't call
- Yoga tonight - keeps me sane!
- HM lunch - tuna pesto pasta - nice and simple and the only thing in the cupboards!
- Tidying bedroom/changing bedding etc
- Putting storage bags away!! Keep stepping over them and generally being a big procrastinator!
- Washing up while the water is still hot
- Bought biscuits on offer for the team - 37p and a nice wee treat

- HW still off (4 days and counting!)
- Netball training tonight, will take own water and carshare
- Put in £20 diesel, this fuel economy thing is amazing! :rotfl:
- Not text certain person now unless they text me first
- Vacuum livingroom after netball
- Tumble ran over night on Eco 7
- A few bits from Mr T's, write small list
- Check CC balance
- Recheck June's budget, didn't do this yesterday
