Taking cats out for 2 hours

  • For gods sake don't take them to the park! - that really would be the best way to confuse them, freak them out and expose them to passing dogs and other hazards and someone could take them away, for whatever reason.

Put them in a suitable carrier and leave them somewhere peaceful - a friend's bedroom would be my choice. Keep them in the carrier: it's not for long and they would feel a lot safer than being left somewhere like a bloody park or confused by being allowed to wander around a strange house. If you don't want to do the carrier, take them to a cattery! Make a sensible choice and you won't be worried either.

Sorry but taking 2 cats that are not used to being on a lead to an uknown park - no way.

What would you do if a dog/dogs went for them? You may pick ONE up but not two.

They would not even walk on a lead, it takes time for cats to get used to being walked on a lead.

1-1.5 hour in a cat basket (one in each) is not going to be a problem, they are going to be safe that way.

Not in a car though, not even with windows open - dangerous for any animal to be left in a car, heat could kill them.

Agree with the people here about having a friend cat sit or the car carrier idea. My cats were find in my car with me for a good hour when I was moving house.
I cat sat overnight for a friends very timid cat recently too. I kept her in a dog cage overnight so she felt more secure and couldn't find hidey holes in the spare bedroom.

Cryptically you havent said why you need to get them out?!!

Am guessing - hiding them from landlord (done this one except we forgot to hide the food bowl doh!!)
Builder or other workman coming round!

    Good luck anyway.

Thanks for all the advice. when I read through it all I decided taking them out to a park or elsewhere was not a great idea.
Had to get them out the house as is selling and had an open-day, but ended up staying there and leaving them. Stayed there as well as had issues with them bringing in little birds (still alive!) couldnt have that happen with people viewing my house, would've been terrible :o
    all was fine though... :)
    ** i didn't lose my mind, i sold it on ebay **
