EON Central heating Care

Hi all could I have some thoughts on this please.

I have today called up EON in order to cancel my central heating care package. It currently costs us £12.50 per month.

When I spoke to the so called 'customer service' operator he immediatley started quoting T&Cs to me and saying that as the policy renewed in April automatically I am now unable to cancel this until April next year. Now we took out this poliy in 2009 and I still have the policy guide and copy of the T&Cs but in which it states that 'you may cancel this contract at any time.

As this is effectivley an insurance product I am astounded that I can't cancel the product. I was expecting to maybe pay an additional month's premium but to be told that I have to pay 11 months worth of premiums in order to cancel this seems ridiculous.

Could anyone give me any advice
