Student TV Licence Summer Refunds

At the end of the last academic year I applied for my Summer Refund but I was refused.
The website says that students are entitled to a refund on the TV Licensing website:
http://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/information/students.jsp#link5
I was resident at uni 25/9/2005 and 18/6/2006
Were TV licencing right to say that there was no unused quarter on my licence and refuse the refund.
I did try again sending proof of those dates in the form of a letter from the university but again was refused.
On both occasions I has to email them as their letters never arrived.

Do TV licences not run in calendar months? So you would need 3 full months to make a quarter.0

jennifernil is correct, unfortunately if you got a TV licence when you first moved in on the 25th September it actually ran from 1st September to 31st August meaning that you had two and a half months left and not enough to claim.
I have said it before, TV Licencing website lies to students as it says your best chance of getting money back is to get the licence as soon as you move in when really your best chance is to wait until the first day of the following month, 1st October as then when you leave in June you have three full calender months on your licence July-September to claim back.0 -
Shame that there is no Student Licence would save on all this re-claiming etc.0

I know, they really need to get a student licence scheme. At our uni halls, where about 100 people lived in the same building, we ALL had to have a TV license(if we had a TV of course), even though we practically lived in the same place (split into flats). So they were making thousands of pounds from one tiny little area. It makes me quite angry....grrrr.....0

3 full calendar months. It's not fair, but that's how they do it. :rolleyes:0
