Thanks Angie - nice to see you online and hope you are well
Sat with Mam from 2 pm till 4 pm adn then picked my brother up and took him down too, so we sat with her then from 4.30 to 7.40 pm
At first, Mam was opening her eyes every 15 minutes or so, and when she did her hands and arms were shaking badly, but her eyes were no longer glazed and elsewhere ..... and she smiled in recognition
She only woke momentarilly and then fast asleep again, but she took a good drink of squash or build-up milkshake-thing most times
They did bring her dinner a bowl of mash and beefy gravy at 4.45 pm and I didn't think we stood a chance of giving her any of that, but she did manage to eat two spoonfulls before sliding off into deep sleep again. A little later, a carer brought her liquid paracetamol and phial for her nebuliser and shouted her name to her very loudly, and Mam woke up quite brightly so I was able to give her the paracetamol and carer then put the nebuliser on her. She took a few drinks of squash and then fell asleep with the neb on
She was starting to stay awake for slightly longer periods and with no shaking by now, so we managed to get her to drink/eat a full build-up milkshake, several glasses of squash, an Aer0 dessert and later a M!lky Bar dessert !! She was smiling and responding to us by now, which was great, but she was scratching at the back of her neck, chest and leg, so I got carers and then nurse to check, and they are going to keep an eye on her overnight in case it is a reaction to the antibiotics, though she has had this one before. The marks on the back of her neck do look like a reaction rash, but the rest of her skin is just dry and flakey, so they are unsure
Anyway, by the time we came away, I was a lot happier about her situation. She does respond quickly to antibiotics normally, so lets hope they are doing the trick
One thing my sister and I are not happy about is that a carer, and not a nurse which it should be, was administering her meds including her nebuliser, especially as she didn't know which plug to remove to plug the machine in, and we had to tell her it is always the left plug so as not to unplug her air-flow mattress. This may explain the number of times we have found her mattress soft or even flat before now
My sister is taking tomorrow off and is going down at 10 am to see how she is in the morning, my brother will go down for lunchtime about 12 till 2 pm and I will then go down till after teatime meds, so we are still keeping a close eye on her, but I can honestly say that we are all a lot less worried than we were yesterday
I am busy cooking my dinner and it is about ready so will eat then, sort some washing out and be back on here later - hope everyone is well

P.S. I am fine - I'm a tough ol' boot that's before Mr 3Dogs says it

Just sitting watching CSI-types on telly - cuddling the cat. It's not quite the same as cuddling a dog, as this cat keeps hissing or trying to bite/claw me if I tickled her in the wrong place like behind her right ear instead of her left ear  and she is very demanding so if I stop stroking her, she flexes her claws in my leg  But the poor old cat is comfy

Hi 3Dogs
I`m so pleased to hear that your Mam is showing some improvement tonight...that is very good news .
Just finishing packing up ebay parcels. I changed my account to a basic shop so that I can do BINs at half price for 30 days & auto rollover if unsold...seems to be generating more sales which is really noticeable.:j:j
LOL @ the cat...my parents have one that demands fuss too but they are never `allowed` to touch his tummy (as he hates that!! ) ...he has my parents very well trained though
