Ford Service
I have a 2 year old Ford Focus and is it due for a service. Ford dealership quote £170 ( In the past I have used a independent dealer for my previous Ford but I need to maintain my warranty) The dealer also quoted £39.99 for a brake fluid change apparently Ford recommend the fliud is change every two years and if you look on line for the requirements for a service this is class as extended period maintenance. My question is if it is part of the normal service why is not included in the service price or is this optional and is thier a need to have the brake fluid changed every two years.

Because they can charge £39-99 for it.0

It's not classed as routine service BUT it's recommended , big difference when warranty work is needed
In the end it's you pays your money you take a choice etc.
With a 2 yr old car due a service IF you don't have the brake fluid changed as ford recommend and IF in 6 months time you have a problem with the breakes ,guess what mr ford dealer will say ?
Well it's like this ,you haven't complied with ford's recommendations .warranty void
been there done that got the expensive bill to prove it !!!!!!
For £40 extra I'd say do it0 -
Brake fluid should be changed every 2 years for pretty much all cars, not just your particular model.
Cambelts aren't included in routine servicing either.0 -
Makes you wonder what they're doing with the £50 overcharge for the service though!0
