Just off the phone to the lovely people at Tax Credits! Yes, I know, I imagined I'd be on hold until Saturday.....
So just to clarify, any inheritance received under £125,000 does NOT need to be declared. If the interest received upon the lump sum exceeds £300 this interest must be declared. So as I am paying off my mortgage and so have no interest Tax Credits have no involvement.
