  • i am looking for a personal loan but dont have the best credit rating,

this company have contacted me regarding a personal loan, they said i have been accepted and the APR is 14.9%

barclays (who i bank with) said they will price match any deal i get, i dont want the loan from these people but if i paid the money would i receive legitimate papers i could show to barclays and receive the price match?????????

    thanks in advance

Read what has been said above.

The only thing you will likely receive for any money paid to this company is a debit mention on your bank statement.

You aren't going to get ANYTHING back, certainly not a loan offer..... Read the thread....

even if you did, Barclays would want to see an offer from a lender, not a scamming broker making empty promises.

There is another issue about why you consider 14.9% a good deal...

My younger brother has been trying to get a loan with this company. He has good credit, and the APR quoted has not been bad.

Supposedly he is all approved and they will release funds once the forms are back and after a £50 charge (which he has paid).

after reading this i am very concerned. It cant be that every application is a scam with this company can it?

He has been assured by them that it has all been approved. Is this common practice or more scam tactics?

    Thank You

Unfortunately, your brother has lost his money. I'm sure you will see from the other posts what this company does.

He must follow the correct procedure and write to them by recorded delivery requesting repayment of his money. Hopefully, he will.

In the very unlikely event of him getting a loan from this company, do please let us know.

Thank you for the responses. It was my fear this had happened.

he did receive paperwork this morning and the cover letter states that 'Our lenders our now working on your behalf to fully approve the loan and they will be in contact with you very shortly'

So obviously NOTHING is approved or done at all yet. I will write to them, but i think i will go to the ombudsman aswel.

It could well turn out that one of these lenders does approve a loan, but it will have nothing to do with easy finance, he could have just got a loan from somewhere else instead.

Its very bad that they just lie to you on the phone the way they do and i can imagine many naive young or old people are taken in by it.

Can the FSA investigate even though they are not FSA registered?

    Thanks all

They will have passed his details to all the bottom feeders.
He is likely to get an offer from FLM but this would be a guarantor loan (high APR) and for a completely different figure than requested, which only a madman would accept.

He is likely to receive many calls, all after their slice of cash, he fell for it once after all, now they will want to try their luck.

Yeah, i am sure he cant wait for the calls.

I read through their terms and conditions on the back page last night and it does state you can apply for a refund if you don't use their service.

As far as i am concerned they have not secured anything for my brother and i will therefore request a refund.

If they don't come through then it will be straight to the FSA, ombudsman and trading standard (part of me hopes they don't do the refund so i can go to these people!)
