A Henry. Used by all cleaning companies. Exceedingly stong motors, highly reliable and very robust.
Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.

Another vote for Henry or the female version Hetty in our case!! Absolutely excellent. Having 3 cats and 3 dogs in the household any vacuum we have is certainly put thru its paces so to speak. Have previously had most makes Hoover, Electrolux, Panasonic, Morphy Richards, Dyson etc have found no problems with Hetty. A well built and robust machine.

I would go for a Henry every time. I think they are only just under £100, but very simple and reliable with good suction.

£70 currently at Sainsbury's online (delivered) HVR200A. You might need a code Just bought one for the new house.

We will still use the Sebo upstairs.

Hi. I will probably be shot down for saying this, as it seems to be Henry or Dyson that everyone buys now, but I bought a HOOVER Freedom Airvolution cleaner for £199.99. It's the best cleaner I have ever had. At the time, I did get 6 months interest free from the shop I bought it from.

But www.hoover.co.uk have the same cleaner reduced from £229.99 to £89.98 with free delivery. There is also a video you can view on their website of it.

It's a smashing machine, I feel I am using the Rolls Royce of cleaners now! lol.

I think after the Hoover Free Flight's fiasco they maybe get overlooked now, but this is highly recommended from me! :)

Good luck anyhow and post back what you eventually do decide on!

We had a Vax that was great in our previous bigger home with more storage space, but in our little cottage it was unwieldy and heavy to carry up the narrow stairs. After much googling on reviews, I bought this Samsung a month ago http://reviews.argos.co.uk/1493-en_gb/4062604/reviews.htm I'd intended for it to 'live' upstairs and we'd use the Vax downstairs...... However, the little Samsung has usurped the Vax as it's so powerful and easy to empty. Really very pleased with it's performance.

Company I work for repairs vacuum cleaners, I can honestly say that 95% of the ones that come in for repair are Dysons.

Henry, Henrietta etc, they are all the same, supplied by Numatic I believe. And we have not had even one in for repair.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
