Borrowed designer clothes without realising now they are ruined.

I am quite disorganised and meant to send them back as soon as I had laundered them but 'I never quite got round to it' I apologised for the delay and she said not to bother as she has loads of tracksuits and shoes (she does).
I phoned her and apologised profusely and said I had no idea they were worth that much. She just said it's fine, 'don't worry about it'.
Do as your friend said and 'don't worry about it'. She has told you not to bother sending the things back. Just get lots of useful wear out of it all. As someone else has said Nike is not designer wear. Who's to say your friend didn't buy it all off ebay and pay a pittance for it.0 -
the uggs could be fake0

I wouldn't class Nike as designer wear and also where on earth did you see Nike clothing costing that much. It's really not that expensive.
Also do the Uggs actually say Uggs on them or could they be cheaper versions - A LOT of shops sell boots that look just like Uggs but cost nowhere near as much. Even if they do have the Uggs logo on them do you know they are real and not fake?
If they are real and cost £175 your friend is a bit daft lending them out (IMO).
Anyway, I wouldn't say that what you have borrowed costs £300. Either way your friend has said not to worry about it. Return the clothes to her and as suggested by other posters do something nice for her to show your gratitude.0 -
£300 for a tracksuit and a pair of boots? Forget the wine and choccies, do her a real favour and introduce her to the wonders of Primark and MSE :rotfl:0

To be honest I have branded clothes that I would happily lend out and not want back, but favourite items from Primark and the like that I would be very sad to lose. Maybe the items didn't fit her that well or just weren't favourites.
I agree that the Uggs were probably fakes if she was that willing to lend them out though, but I certainly wouldn't worry about it if she has stressed that she doesn't want them back.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator

Am I the only one that thinks it's a bit odd that you carried on wearing them and washing them? If my friend lent me clothes and I was waiting to give them back when I next saw her I would have put them in a bag after washing and left them there.0

you are right, with hindsight I should have bagged them but I just put them at the back of my wardrobe and they were so comfy...0 -
