Anyone had a Mortgage with Accord?

Hi all
I am about to get a mortgage and am going for an interest only offset. My choices are between Santander or Accord with Accord being the far better rate.
I've found some mixed reviews about Accord online but the bad reviews come from a site that I don't think is entirely credible. The few other reviews I can find are favourable.
Has anyone had any dealings with them and are they any good? I know that the offset is not an internet product - I would have to send overpayments by post. I also believe that they take a long time to process applications.
Can anyone add to this?

Accord is Yorkshire Building Society's broker arm. They are a bit slow at the moment, but any lender with decent products is probably suffering similar delays.I am a mortgage broker. Thanks kingstreet!
Do you know by any chance why they (and others) are a little slow at the moment? And do think that they are a decent lender?0 -
Accord are considerably worse than a bit slow at the moment - but other than that a good operationHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

As mentioned, they are slow because of the amount of business they are trying to process. Any lender with decent rates is probably inundated with applications - it's one of the reasons the likes of HSBC is being so picky. It can afford to say no to a large proportion of its applicants, cherry-picking all the best ones.
I'd have a mortgage with Accord, along with many lenders. Is there a particular concern you have which would require them to be "decent" or just an uneasy feeling over lenders in general?I am a mortgage broker. Just noticed horrific reviews on http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews56711.html but at the same time i couldn't find bad reviews elsewhere (the few reviews i could find were largely positive) and I noticed that a lot of the reviews on that site were from Guests...
It seems hard to find reviews about lenders so thought I would ask here. In general my feeling about them is good - although the thought of having to post them overpayments seems a bit dark ages:-)0 -
I had a mortgage with them and they were OK to deal with - no problems. Nothing amazing about them, but everything they sent during the mortgage seemed accurate and timely enough. I think the mortgage process was slow to start with. I'd not be put off using them if their deal was OK.

I'd agree with the other posters who said Accord are slow right now - took them just over a month to reissue my mortgage offer after the previous one expired (that was March-April time).
However when we first applied with them in October 2010 they were absolutely fantastic and quick to arrange surveys etc, so current speeds may just be a blip!
I'm only a month into my mortgage with them so not much feedback on service etc, but I'm happy so far and got a good rate with them (repayment, 3.59% fixed for three years).0 -
I'm with Accord. The mortgage was taken out in May 2010 on a 2 year fixed deal (though I wish I had fixed for 3 years now) and I've had no problems with them. The application process was very efficient. I was also on the phone to them yesterday about making a lump sum payment and they were very helpful.0
