Wedding Venue Booked for 2013!!

I asked my OH if he was excited after I had booked it and he said no!! He said he would be nearer the time, but its too far away to get excited now lol! Despite that tho, he has told his workmates and his boss, and has been talking to his bosses wife about it, so to be honest I think he's spoken more about it to other people since we booked it than I have! We've had talk of "can't decide who to ask as best man" and "I think I want a new kilt jacket for the wedding" so its obviously in his mind!

We will have been engaged for almost 4 years when we get married, and I had never planned to get engaged without setting a wedding date, but he sort of sprung it on me and here we are only setting a date 2 years after getting engaged! So I guess they are getting off lightly!

Hi Everyone!

I am new to all these forums but I would like to join in all the interesting ideas and topics surrounding weddings. I am getting married in June 2013. I have already booked our venue, photographer and car and deposits paid. Super organised but places are getting booked up pretty quick. Plus this gives us time to shop around and save up. I have also made appointments for trying on dresses in June as they can take months to come.

I'm not getting married but I came up against the late booking situation when I tried all my local venues for my big birthday party in July, all booked up some a couple of years ago. Happily I managed to book the local golf club which is very nice if a little expensive as I have to get them to do the food. So early booking is recommended whatever you are celebrating.

We have booked a gold club too. They hadn't got any dates for 2013 but you never know and at least we have the things we wanted and they fix the price too so we wont be hit by price rises in two years (other than the venue)

Firstly Congratulations on booking your venue, you must be so excited!
AoT, do you know anyone in Education in your area? They do tend to know term dates a couple of years in advance so if you ask maybe your question will be answered and if not they should be able to give you a good indication if you have dates in mind.

Hello hp3! Congratulations on booking your venue too! You seem to be super organised, with your photographer etc all booked too! I will need to get a move on!

I cannot wait to start trying on dresses, but I just had a baby in January so wanted to be back to my normal weight before I start trying on dresses. Have about 10lbs still to loose (target weight 8st 4oz) so once I get to that point and get back into my regular jeans and actually pay the deposit for the venue once we get numbers sorted, I'll get round to the bridal shops!

Exciting stuff everyone! Think I will go and start a June 2013 Brides and Grooms thread seeing as there are a few of us!

Hey, thanks for this. Unfortunately no one seems to know lol! I've been told they tend to release them in August/September time. I'll just have to be patient I guess...not one of my strong points! :rotfl:
