GM's (Vauxhall, SAAB, etc) own brand oil is pretty good and reasonably priced at around £20 for 5 litre's.

GSF will do you 5 litres for around £18 (unless the offer has ended) - decent enough oil too

If you have a mate with a Costco card they do a Chevron oil , from memory it is a 10w40 semi synthetis.

You would need to check exact specs but it is £31 for 20 litres. Thay do two oils one for petrol and one for diesel, blue and black containers.

Sorry can't be more specific as i walk past it when i buy the 0w40 Mobil 1 TD oil for the wifes Clio.

Other than that Comma do well priced oils, and i have heard that Halfords oil is supplid by Mobil, but can't provide any more than internet rumour on that one i'm afraid.

One place i never economise on is oil, why save money on 5 litres of something that will keep.your engine alive for 10k miles.

Also don't buy the cheap rubbish you see for £5 a gallon it tends to be recycled crap.

Some people.used to ask for this type of oil when i ran a garage, the one i remember was the very nice middle class lady with a Subaru XT Turbo! She was only interested in economical servicing, each to their own and all that.

Forgot to mention the Mobil 1 for the wifes Clo was £28 for 5 litres, a bargain as the same oil was over £50 in Halfords.

Tell them you have a Trade Club card and it's a lot cheaper. 5w30 synth is only £16 inc vat on trade club.
