How much do I need to take for spending money for a week in Rhodes (Euro-zone)? Self-catering, eating out every night, going with a friend.

When I went to Rhodes last summer I took 200 euros and ended up bringing some home but I was all inclusive. I think from what I can remember food in Rhodes town was not hugely cheap and we drank soooo much water due to it being mega hot, so I would factor in a fair amount of soft drinks during the day too. Sorry I couldn't be more help, have a Fab holiday0

Last time I went to Greece a few years ago with the wife we needed £100 a day between us. This paid for eating out, drinks (a lot), sun loungers and some gifts.
Exchange rate was a bit better then so I would say £120 now.0 -
When me and my husband go away, we take £700 for a week, plus a bit more for the airport there and back.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0

We found Rhodes (stayed in Lindos but ate out in Rhodes Town twice at lunch & twice in the evenings) to be the most expensive island we've ever visited (but also one of the nicest).
Lindos has lots of rooftop restaurants which have great views of the sea and the Acropolis but are quite pricey.
We were paying €13-€15 for a main course and, unlike other Greek islands, the house wine wasn't particularly cheap - around €11 - €15 per litre.
An example menu is:
pork fillet stuffed with prawns in lemon sauce (€14), pork fillet stuffed with feta, tapenade & sun-dried toms (€15). Bill with wine €42.
However, the food was really good.
A large beer was €3 - €3.50.
We spent between €80 & €90 between the 2 of us per day just on food and drink, but you could probably shave some off that as we didn't stint ourselves, although we weren't guzzling cocktails every night.
If you wanted to eat pizza or gyros (kebab meat but not as we know it here & pretty good) you can keep your spends down.
From whast I heard Pefkos (the next resort to Lindos) is cheaper than Lindos so it might even depend which resort you're going to.0 -

Wow, you are so precise! You can tell this is a moneysavings site. Thanks, that was very helpful.0 -
We had a great trip with lots of ouzo and metaxa and averaged our spends at E100 for a couple per day. The one day we arrived and had a couple of rounds of drinks and that was all, though and the last night we had a big blow out seafood meal and had to scrape every last cent together to pay for it!0

I always keep a record of how much we spend on holiday - it helps when deciding how much to take next time.
I also keep a note of which restaruants & bars we liked/didn't like.
BUT......I am retired and have all day to mess around.
Enjoy your holiday - you've not said which resort you're going to but Lindos is very picturesque, built on a steep hill down towards the sea.
It has a maze of narrow alleyways with small shops, bars and restaurants.
Definitely worth a visit if you're not staying there but it gets very busy during the day with people from other resorts and off the cruise ships.
We counted 30 coaches one day parked at the top of the village.
Rhodes town is also worth a visit.0
