Hi Blackdog
Thanks! I definately think i've been 'bitten' by the savings bug!
We got the DVD and spent £8 on printing them out at boots - Luckily I had a few frames that go OK in our sitting room for now.
I also got a voucher through from Groupon a few days ago for a 20" by 30" canvas for £19 so I ordered that, It was the kind of offer I could bear to pass me by as it's just what I wnated for a fraction of the cost! So hopefully that will be with us by next week and I'll be happy with that
.
Also my mam ordered me some of the electronic cigarettes from groupon for me to try and help me quit! I was going to try 'cold turkey' but I feel like if I have the electronic cigarettes with me then it might help me if I ever feel like I NEED one - hopefully this time when I quit it'll be for good and not just a few months here and there! I'm alot more determined this time so I'm aiming for Monday to be my 1st non smoking day! ... I'll probably be on here Monday afternoon complaining that i'm dying! lol.
Thanks for your support

Good Luck to you also then Kirbybirch! You'll have to keep me updated on how your getting on ... we could help each other get a little bit of motivation ontop of that little savings bug pinching at us!
Thank you sounds like a plan :beer:Can I find out my credit score? You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)0 -

Hello,
How come you decided to rent out a place? Where you forced to or anything, just saying if one of your parents is happy for you to stay then you can save £700 a month like that. My mate ( bit older) had to do this in the end, wanting his own place had a kid and had £100 left a month and he was renting off my brother so was cheap! he would be saving for years! So maybe could give that a thought if your parents are happy, better to have your own space I know but could potentially get your deposit 2 x quicker.0 -
Good luck with Monday, we are all supporting you and expecting you to succeed, no pressure there then!
No pressure at all! lol - I'm pretty confident that i'm going to do OK - I have cut down to 3 a day to prepare myself and so far ... im still alive!! :rotfl:Thanks for the support - it really helps

Hi Toby
Basically we where to impatient to wait to save up enough for a deposit to buy somewhere is the top and bottom of it! We told ourselves it would be good because we could get all the furniture ready and see what we are like living together before we commt to buying somewhere but to be honest we could have just saved the money to go and buy the things before we moved in and although we'd never 'lived together' for more than 6/7 weeks solid we where pretty much in each others pockets whenever OH was home (hes in the Army!) so we knew we'd be fine tbh!
I can't move back in with my mam now as she fosters and since I moved out she applied for another child because she has the spare room. We have talked about me moving in with OH's grandparent because they are amazing people and wouldn't mind but I think we'll see how we feel when the lease comes to an end in about 4months time. It would definately help us reach our target quicker!
Thanks for your help

Pay Day Again!
Another £70 in the pot!
25% of the way to my December total now :T VERY happy with that!
We have a 50th party that we're attending this weekend, its at a social club so drink should be cheap and the OH is travelling early Sunday morning so wont be drinking a lot so it should turn out to be a fairly cheap weekend (Hopefully!)
Hope you all have a lovely bank holiday

Doris,
Congratulations for making the 25% mark, that is a real milestone to achieve.
Well done with cutting down the ciggies ready for the big day on Monday, don't weaken over the weekend when you are out at the party!
Have a great weekend and I look forward to hearing how you are getting on next week.

Come on Doris give us an update on the giving up smoking front!0

we'd use our savings to pay our deposit and buy the furniture for the flat - we spent £3k
Dunno how much your deposit was but it sounds like a fair old hit on new furniture. Freecycle can be your friend, go secondhand, I was 28 before i bought my first piece of new furniture, for IKEA as it happens. Never bought new in rented accommodation. You're young and in love, you don't need new furniture a this stage of life
