    hi all

i buy the teacher and the lollypop lady

this year they will be getting each, lavender bath salts with an old fashioned wooden scoop!

they are really old fashioned and they smell devine!!

50p each in home bargains!! ( i have had them a while, but they have some left?)

i think the teachers work extremely hard and at least they will be able to have a long soak in the relaxing lavender at the end of term!

the lollypop lady is really sweet and its a little thank you to show that we appriecate her:D

I am a teacher and although very much appreciated the gifts parents have bought me i have found that some years i am overloaded with chocolates! I have however always kept all the home made gifts given to me (they somehow mean more) and have several still in my kitchen from 4/5 years ago. I have been given home made christmas decorations in the past (salt dough type) and they are lovely, plus my little boy loves looking at these each year when it comes to Christmas time. Please don't feel pressured to buy for the teacher a thank-you and a card is just as nice! hth
Chocolate always makes me feel better!

Asda have some lovely looking boxes of chocs for £1 if you do want to buy something.

There is a lovely poem, I think it may be more for leaving day but i'll see if I can dig it up anyway xx

found it! it's more suited to littlies though:

As you go along lifes way.
I will grow and I will change.

I'll grow into a man good and strong,
But I'll always remember those who helped me along.

So this is my handprint, frozen in time,
A mark on the paper thats all mine.

It wont always be this small,
But it was when you held it, and helped me walk tall.

blub! oh and doughcraft can be fun too xx

I bought my littleys teacher a bauble to hang on her Christmas tree with 'special teacher' on it from Collectables for £1.99 (also sell them in Birthdays) it's lovely, it's different, it doesn't break the bank, she will have it for years to come and always think of littley when she hangs it up AND it looks fab in a little pink box and bow ;) HTH

Like other teachers posting on here I expect nothing and am happy with just a card. Cards made by the children are always a bonus. I work in a Special Needs School and so always have at least 1 teaching assistant and sometimes 2 or 3 who work with the class. We are always appreciative of the smallest gift - a box of Roses or such to be shared by the staff is just fine....for the thought if not for our waistlines !! :rudolf:

Homemade (or shop bought if you prefer) cakes or biscuits would be very much appreciated. Just one lot from each family (not each child) for the staff room. One tip would be to give them a week before the end of term when the staff room has no munchies - they will be really appreciated!

I am a TA who is assigned to a specific child. The child's parents have never even said thank you or sent me a card or anything. The money is lousy and its very hard work! It is of course very rewarding in other ways but a thank you would be nice. Luckily other parents send in presents (chocs, biscuits etc) for the staff to share so I don't go without!

Bet they're quick to complain though!

My daughter used fabric paint to draw a picture of her teacher on a plain t-towel I bought for the purpose.
    Seemed to please!
