Cheap Gite Holiday in France?

Hi All,
I am currently looking at booking a gite holiday in France for 3 adults and 1 kid. I have been on the brittanyferries website.

It seems to be very cheap but I wondered if there were alternatives and if I need to worry about many additional costs?
Can any help?

Thanks

Reg

Sorry, when I said cheap I just meant compared to the brittany ferries website. I have found trips on their site for about £750 for a week in a gite and the ferry travel for the four of us and a car. That seemed very reasonable but just wondered what alternatives there were.

    thanks

Hiya, we've booked a break in August via http://www.northern-france-gites.co.uk costing 400 euros for a week, there are cheaper options on there too, all look lovely. We booked the EuroTunnel with Tesco vouchers for the crossing. All very good value for high season!

    Hi,

When I was checking out the small print on the tesco clubcard/eurotunnel website it said that the vouchers couldn't be used against the internet prices - how different are they over the phone?

Also, having noticed that booking 2 day return trip was less than half the cost of the 2 weeks I away for - do eurotunnel check that you haven't pulled a fast one on them?..
ie 2 day break return cost £51 (so booking there and back £102)
vs 2 week return cost £135
This is bit tricky explaining, but taking the outbound part of your first booking - abandoning the return, then abandoning the outbound part of your second booking and travelling on the return.

    Thanks

Frogeye, have you done this recently??? We used to do it but received a couple of warning letters so stopped as they said that in the terms and conditions they would charge the maximum fare for each crossing taken.
We and friends now get 10% off, plus a couple of freebies, with BF but would look at the LD Lines Newhaven Dieppe service as it is much cheaper if I were you.
Lots of sites still have gites available, we are in Deux Sevres which is a lot cheaper than the popular coast, still lots to do and many gites have pools. Don't miss a day or two at Puy du Fou, it is truly amazing. http://www.puydufou.com/en

The Internet and telephone price is the same at any given time. What they mean is that Tesco bookings can't be made online. You also can't book 2 day returns because if you haven't used the outward portion of a ticket the return trip can't be validated at the French Check-In. Also Tesco vouchers can't be used to make bookings where the travel starts from Calais, it's Folkestone only. You can also be charged at a later time for tickets that have been used incorrectly, it's in the Terms and Conditions.
