Employment agency keeps "messing me around" with appointments, what are my rights?

Basically they never seem to give me any notice of appointments, I just seem to get a letter through post a day or so before the appointment and just expected to turn up.
It's basically a glorified New Deal advisor, I go in mention what jobs I applied for and then get sent home(my 30 minute appointment is often over in under 5)
Anyway despite them knowing I have problems with letters going missing they sent me 2 appointment letters which I didnt get then complained that I didnt turn up and how if it happens again my benefit will be stopped!
Also they know my landline and mobile number and never ring them, and they only email about twice a month asking "how is job search going" to which I write a 1 or 2 line reply of basically saying its ok.
Why cant they email me a time?! Why cant they leave a message on either phone instead of sending me letters that never arrive.
The reason I bring it up now is I have missed my 3rd appointment since I have had a week off (which they knew about) and only got back a few hours ago and found a letter stating I had an appointment.
Also they keep giving me bad appointment times i.e at the exact day and time I have to sign on or only giving me like 5 minutes after signing on to do a 15 minute walk so I have to run and also for a while I was at uni a few hours a week and told them what days and time it was and they kept giving me appointments which meant I missed the classes and had to leave the course(which if I completed the few hours a week for the semester would of got me on full time course and off benefits!)
Basically my complaint is they are booking me appointments without checking me with first and just seem to assume as I sign on I can come to them with no or short notice and at any time that suits them and not me.
So what are my rights?
