Advise on Lloyds Tsb Ppi - "Have I missed the Boat"..

Hello,
I made a Ppi complaint in the sept 2009, and lloyds offered me £1300 as a good will gesture, which I didn't accept at the time.
But by the january 2010, my mother was diagnose with a serious illness.
When Lloyds Tsb sent me that offer, I had to respond in the six months and I didn't.

Can I still proceed with the complaint against Lloyds Tsb as I didn't accept the offer.

Any advise would be most helpful...

    Hi and welcome

I would write to explain the situation with your mum's issues (sorry to hear about that).
So did you exactly reject the offer in writing?

Is it worth giving the Ombudsman a ring and ask for their advice ? They may be up to speed on situations such as yours and can also advise if best to pursue with the complaint with them.

If you were given six months to go to FOS in the offer and did not then they are within their rights to timebar you now, I'm afraid.

If they take that route then your only hope would seem to be that they actually miscalulated the redress and you can force them to start again.

    Hi
I was advised that I should continue as I was working part time as well?
I did not accept the offer as it was an unfair amount ,it was a misold.

In light of recent developments, would be a good idea to write to them as I did not accept the offer ?
Even though the six month deadline has past?
can I do it as a new complaint or will the previous complaint go against me...?

    What Can I do?:(

recent developments have had no impact on you.

You get one bite at the cherry unless you can give good reason why you didnt follow it up within 6 months to date or signficant new information has come to light. As there is no new information, you cant use that.

Your best bet is to ask them.

While this is very true about one bite at the cherry, it is still worth a try as I had been beyond the 6 months to appeal/take it to FOS. I have in the last day though managed to get a decision of upheld from Black Horse (part of the Lloyds Group) after re-submitting my evidence. The only difference is I was better prepared for the mis-selling and sent all the documentation I could to prove the mis-selling. It was about £4 to send it 1st Class recorded delivery.
