Best Credit Card for Fuel

in Credit cards
I'm self employed and needing to start keeping my fuel purchases on a separate credit card account for ease of accounting.
At the moment, as the Tesco petrol station is right in my path between home and office, I always fill up there using my Tesco Clubcard Credit card, but I also use this card for normal Tesco purchases because of the points.
I really wanted to get a separate Tesco Clubcard Credit Card just for my fuel, and carry on with my existing card for other purchases, but Tesco say I can only have one account with them...:(
Has anyone got any bright ideas?

You could try getting an additional card under the account.0

The additional account would have a seperate statement (or should do upon request.)0 -

I did ask Tesco if that was possible, but the additional card can't be in my name, and must be in the name of someone else at my address, which is only my husband. He's already got his own Tesco card, but even if he didn't, that would cause an accounting issue in it's own right as the expenditure would then appear to be my husbands, not my own.0 -
Why don't you just get another credit card from any other bank for your non-fuel purchases?
You can still get exactly the same clubcard points for non-fuel spend if you use a different card AFAIK. You only get extra points for using a Tesco Credit card on fuel, not on other shopping. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

Sorry, I wasn't clear before. I don't mean I just use my card for non fuel purchases at Tescos. I actually use the card for pretty much all non cash transactions with everyretailer. I make great use of the clubcard deals (including two return flights to NYC that I didn't have to contribute a penny towards).
The reason for me starting this thread is that I have accepted that I can't have the best of both worlds, so if I can't have another Tesco account, what is the next best compromise?
Also, thenudeone, forgive me but I don't know what your abbreviation AFAIK means?0 -
You could consider a credit card from Sainsbury's Bank, either a Nectar c/card or seperate Sainsbury's c/card & Nectar card.
Sainsbury's & BP petrol stations give Nectar points on fuel sales but I don't know if any other petrol stations do. Then you can spend the Nectar points as you wish.0 -
Just get the best cashback / reward card you can find.
Still fill up at Tesco as it's handy.
Present your tesco card for clubcard points but pay with your new card and earn rewards on that too.0 -
also recently tried to maximise cashback on tesco fuel and shopping by applying for the new mbna/amex card which gives 1.5% cashback on all fuel/shop spend (as recommended on martin's excellent money tips)
-but as i already have an amex platinum cashback card, application was rejected in spite of good credit rating
-this is a discriminatory restrictive practice?
-anyone else encountered this?0 -

I see. you want to continue to get clubcard points on all your non-Tesco spend. How about asking a partner / parent / adult offspring's to open a Tesco credit card account for your use only, and you becoming a secondary cardholder on it and agreeing to pay it each month?
