Nero to burn cd

I use Nero 5 on my desktop to burn a cd to save my work. It goes through the normal procedure until I get to the burn procedure when a box for save image file comes up whereas it would normally just write the cd and complete the process. If I say yes to save after a couple of seconds it says that it has written the cd but it hasn't. If I say cancel save image it then says the burn has been aborted by user. Can anyone help me please?

This normally happens when you haven't got a cdwriter, I assume you have actually got one?
Or possibly the default recorder device has changed. To check, open nero and go to the recorder menu at the top. Click on Choose Recorder. in there should be an Image Recorder and also your cdwriter e.g. mine says ARTEC WRR-4848.
This should be highlighted with the blue bar so it uses it as the default..0 -

Thanks I have done what you said regarding the recorder menu and it's back to normal.0
