Special Support Grant - 2nd year

Hello, I am waiting to return my declaration for my second year of student loans. In my first year I claimed the SSG because I was on ESA 28 weeks prior to starting my course.

I recently discovered I could also get some help with rent costs and have partial Housing Benefit, which is great, I didn't expect that (thanks to the CAB advisor). Housing Benefit will run the duration of my course, for 3 years.

My new loan does not state any SSG, but it didn't last time either. My question is: does the SSG only apply for one year under the ESA 28 weeks prior provision, or does it run the full course like Housing Benefit?

If somebody knows the actual answer to this I would be very grateful. Thanks.
