Grass mowing in rental with no lawnmower?

I'm just about to sign my first ever rental contract, having been a homeowner for 20 years. It's a three bed semi with a large lawn ...but no lawnmower.
LA says it's my responsibility to keep it mown...does that mean I have to buy the lawnmower and keep it in the property, dragging it over the carpet, as there is no shed or anywhere else to keep it?
Any suggestions please?

I guess options are:
buy one - either store it outside under a cover or inside.
ask your neighbour if you can borrow theirs.
hire a gardener to come in once or twice a year to keep it reasonable.0 -
Ask them to provide a grass cutting service as part of the contract or knock some money off the rental price to cover the cost of a gardner explaining that unless the provide a lawnmower & safe storage place for it then you will have no other options .0

if the LL provides a lawnmower then the LL is legally responsible for its safety so I can understand why they have chosen not to do so
as suggested your best bet seems to be to get a gardening service - how big is the area anyway could you get a manual mower rather than a powered one? If yes see if the LL would pay for it as then obviously it would come with less risk to the LL re safety implcations0 -
You've been a homeowner for 20 years but never had a Lawnmower?
Personally Id just get one and dump it in the garden and cover it up when not in use to stop it rusting. My first place came with no lawnmower so I got one for my birthday. My 2nd place they locked the shed with a lawnmower in it provided for a Gardener, I told them to not bother with him and id do it myself.(Didnt want a random gardener going in my house and wanted access to the Shed for our bikes)0 -

To which the LA is likely to respond that they will offer such a service at an additional charge not a reduction!Gone ... or have I?0 -
Does the landlord provide a vacuum cleaner? Or a loo brush? No? But hopefully you'll be keeping the carpets (and lavatory) reasonably clean.....0

If you didn't want the responsibility of a garden you should have rented a flat.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards. £38.62. Cover available for an extra £9.02.
An annoying expense, I agree, but not much in the scheme of moving house.
More annoying having to find somewhere to store it. But that one looks pretty compact.0
