Four whole days eh? Goodness, I've 'lived' all over the world by that yardstick! ;)

Personally I liked London when I lived there throughout my 20's. Once I hit 30 it's pleasures had started to wane so we moved out to Kent and now commute in.

We can still go out after work as and when we fancy but can go home to green fields and a much more chilled out environment - Best of both worlds!

Me too. I'm hitting the big one in the Autumn and starting to think of moving outside.

Anyone who bets on a price always going back up after a fall, deserves to lose all their money.

Rising house equity has served millions of people well down the generations, many of whom downsize in older age. Nothing guaranteed but the weight of equitable experience in the last 50 years is overwhelming.

Make sure you trial (and cost up) the commute - that's the obvious downside.

The upsides include lower crime, friendlier people and the look on your mates faces when they come to visit and realise a) they don't have to park their cars on the street and b) noone has to sleep on the sofa as there are plenty of spare bedrooms to go around and c) they paid 50% more for 50% less space

    (ok so I'm a touch smug...):p
Go round the green binbags. Turn right at the mouldy George Elliot, forward, forward, and turn left....at the dead badger

Too true! I fancy a house after having lived in flats for so long.

Think I'll wait til after the Olympics then consider my options.

I'll add that to the ever growing list of inaccuracies you post here.

Suddenly you get all these faux posh middle class just out of uni brown noser types who all got jobs as recruitment agents. None of them have got a clue how bullsh1tty they sound.

I heard them on more than one occassion when I was there last year.

During what should have been a pleasant Indian meal, the smell of the bullsh1t nearly put me off my Lamb Karahi.

I suppose if you get paid a largish salary for doing not a lot, then you had at least try to sound intelligent. The thing is, they didn't even manage that.

You don't get it so much outside zone 1 though. The other thing is the tourists, they all clog up the pavements, loads of them - they've got no gumption. London is a working city with people working and rushing about for trains and work and stuff you don't need all these european students with their invicta rucksacks standing in a big group in the middle of the sodding pavement gawping at big ben. They do the same in the stations at the bottom of the amazing moving staircases reading a sodding tube map oblivious to all the people trying to get past.

Why not give us one of your multi-quote bore-fest posts? We havent seen one of those in a couple of hours.

Been there, proved you wrong, done that.

Anyway, I haven't got time, I'm too busy waiting to die.

In the meantime, I might just invest some money in THE inflation proof, capital protected savings scheme that's just come back onto the market. ;)

BTW. It's been a lot longer than a couple of hours, sunshine. I haven't posted much for a week or more. Nice try though.

You're a legend in your own mind. :rotfl:

    Legend ?

Not quite, but I'm working on it.
