Yes, London is rather "special" isn't it ?
Oh how I would love to pay £300K+ for a small house and battle through the traffic each day, pay the congestion charge (maybe), or alternatively do a sardine impression on the underground.
I worked in London for 2 years. It certainly had its plusses but when it came to consider going permanent and looking at what I could get for my money I told them to stick it. I was not going to sell my 3 bed detached in the North, with garden, close to the countryside, to live in a 1 bedroom flat in a sh1thole like Hammersmith or Clapham, or conversely buy a 2 bed house in a dump like Watford or Stevenage and commute in.
I am flexible and happy to work where the work is."There's no such thing as Macra. Macra do not exist."

I've really wounded them today. :rotfl:
Very gutless of them. They got my comment removed. Proves I get to them.
:rotfl:
I wish they would have left it. I reckon it would have broken all records for worst voted comment in the Mail. I don't need to redo it. My work is done.
1-0 to Sibley today.
Do you know how childish you sound ?
If your comment was deleted it would be because it broke whatever CofC there is in the forum. People can complain about anything. It will not be removed if it complies."There's no such thing as Macra. Macra do not exist."

I'd rather pay the same price for a "dump up north" than the equivalent "dump down south", at least I have a good chance of a garden!
I'd rather pay more for a dump oop north than live 'darn sarth'"For those who understand, no explanation is necessary. Those who don't understand, dont matter."0 -
The only good thing to come out of London is the M40/M1, IMO.
My last two (working) visits revealed expensive nights out, horrendous traffic, and overheard conversations in restaurants with fancy sounding words, but no real meaning.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0 -

I did "live" there for more than a couple of days each time. Enough to make my mind up that I wasn't keen on the place.
Four whole days eh? Goodness, I've 'lived' all over the world by that yardstick!
Personally I liked London when I lived there throughout my 20's. Once I hit 30 it's pleasures had started to wane so we moved out to Kent and now commute in.
We can still go out after work as and when we fancy but can go home to green fields and a much more chilled out environment - Best of both worlds!Go round the green binbags. Turn right at the mouldy George Elliot, forward, forward, and turn left....at the dead badger0 -
I've lived North, East and West London. what I used to hate is the underground once you hit zone 1. Suddenly you get all these faux posh middle class just out of uni brown noser types who all got jobs as recruitment agents. None of them have got a clue how bullsh1tty they sound.0
