Looking for a site to book in August which has static caravans to book and also the option to also pitch a tent for a portion of that week.
Any recommendations?
Cheers.

My parents recently bought a caravan at Hafan-y-Mor near Pwllheli which is a Haven site which includes a camp site. I know Haven isn't to everyone's tastes but the facilities at Hafan-y-Mor are second to none in the area and it's nicely located about half way down the peninsula so it's a good base if you want to do a bit of exploration.

If might also be worth getting in touch with North Wales Tourism, or least having a browse of their website - http://www.nwt.co.uk/search.php?mode=campingandtouring
About twelve years ago I celebrated graduating from University by hiking around the peninsula, starting at Caernarfon and going down the North coast to Aberdaron and back along the South coast to Porthmadog. It's a fantastic place with loads of little beachs just waiting to be found. The North side is quiet and unspoiled and largely unpopulated while the South side is a bit more "commercialised" with resorts like Abersoch, Pwllheli, Criccieth and Porthmadog.
Pwllheli and Porthmadog are the main centres of population so if you need to stay somewhere within ten miles of a supermarket then those are the areas to looks at (Pwllheli has an Asda and Porthmadog has a Tesco). If you're looking to stay somewhere quiet (and close to Porthdinllaen) then you need to look at sites in Morfa Nefyn or possibly Tudweiliog. The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
And I look like a tramp and tramps like us

Cheers, I know the area very well. Been loads of times, I just don't know many camp sites/caravanning sites.
Been to Haven many times (as Butlins as well), looking for something different.

The Lleyn Peninsular is IMO the nicest place this side of the Highlands its Beaches and Snowdonia National Parks are gods back yard , Nefyn if you get lucky to stay around here try Ty Coch stunning location on the beach serves great food . All accessable from Porthmadog to Bangor to Beddgelert within a smart scenic 40 minute drive. My home is Merseyside my heart is Gwynedd my ashes are going to Snowdonia. Look at Anglesey too:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0

I ask because although a place may say sleeps 6/8 or whatever they also mainly only cater and seat that amount (knives forks chairs etc)good luck with your hunt:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0 -

Abererch Sands near Pwllheli is very nice - if you want the lleyn then Barmouth is a bit too far south to be honestI don't know if I'm getting better or just used to the pain.
