Wall Tiles On Floor

My bathroom floor need to be replaced. I've set my heart on glass mosaic tiles but I can't find any that are advertised as being suitable for floors. Are tiles that are advertised as being 'floor tiles' thicker or more water resistant than wall tiles or is it a case of the manufacturer deciding that the tiles look better on the floor or walls?
Are there any special grouts or sealants that I can get that would make the wall tiles harder wearing or more waterproof?
Many thanks.

i think you should be okay putting mosaics on the floor, there isnt enough surface area per tile to create any pressure from walking on it to break them. the only problem would be u'd need to use a flexible adhesive and grout as they would be more likely move with you walking on them so the grout would crack.
Floor tiles are thicker but again would only be a problem on larger tiles not mosaics0 -
Might the edges be a little sharp on bare feet? Just a thought. How about swimming pool tiles?0

i have a lovely bathroom floor - nice big light coloured tiles and i also have glass tiles in the design to - going around the edge (i tile in) and i have 2 rows of the glass tiles and it looks really lovely and as there are not many of them i have no problems of them getting broken or anything - i just used a flexible adhesive and grout - it was my compromise - as the glass tiles are also damned expensive! lol - good luck0

Sharp edges aren't an issue if the mosaics are correctly grouted. My bathroom floor has them on it and is fine.
If you want swimming pool tiles, there's some colours here:

Did you use the special mosaic tile adhesive or regular stuff?0 -
We've got mosaics on the floor in our ensuite.

They've been there for three years now and they're absolutely fine. If I did it again, I wouldn't use white grout, I'd go with a pale grey perhaps but I still love the tiles. They were pretty thick and totally smooth. It's such a shame they don't do them anymore because we're moving and I'd pick the same again without hesitation, which is very unusual for me!
I've seen friends with smaller, thinner mosaic tiles on the floor and they've not lasted well and there's even more grout on the floor to contend with.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
