I have found it nothing but trouble .I hate the darned thing and if I could figure a way to go back to IE6 I would .The pages keep jerking and I have no control over the scrolling down . It is the worst thing I have ever done installing the upgrade that Windows kept sending me prompts about. I have several friends and relations who also find it very irritating .I now only use my computer on the odd occasion. As I type this grumble if i try to scroll down it keeps jerking upwards til the next page is in view. It's horrible:mad:

    JackieO,
I know NOTHING about computers. I had the same problems with IE7 that you have. Also the it seemed to stuff up various settings so that many hyperlinks no longer worked. I came across a 'system restore' facility in the 'help and support' section that you can access via the Start button. I set the restore point to a date prior to IE7 installation and it did the trick. My old page has returned and the hyperlinks are working again.

It's not difficult, uninstall from add/remove programs and problem solved, you're back with ie6.

System restore can cause some problems when trying to get rid of an install, especially if there are separate updates installed as well. You only needed to uninstall ie7 through add/remove to get rid of it.

Why an earth are you using IE ??
Try Firefox or opera since we have upgraded webbrowser's and always years ahead of IE we have never had problems.
You will always have problems with IE

Thank You so much I am a complete numpty when it comes to computers and was feeling really fed-up as the blooming screen kept jigging about .I am now feeling on top of the world as I have now got rid of IE7 and it will never darken my computer again . Cheers for the info I have never tried to uninstall anything I thought once it was on there you were stuck with it.I did try emailing Microsoft but they wanted £35.00 + vat for advice .I asked on MSE and you lovely folk helped me out in a trice, and it cost nothing .When you are like me, a coplete novice and a bit wary of machines it's a bit daunting to try and do something. I am always worried that it might go wrong
I am one happy old biddy now Thank a bunch for the help :A :T
