what is your state pension called?

Me and my OH get pension credit, she gets her state pension, I will get mine in October.
I have just had a letter from pension credit giving details of my pension credit award for the current year.
It states that my pension credit will be increased by 90p from October, then says that I should inform them of any changes to my works or personal pensions.
I will be getting my state pension from Oct, which will take me over the threshhold for getting pension credit.
I thought that when I got my state pension the pension credits would end or does the statement that I should inform them of any changes to my works or personal pensions not include my state pension?
Would a couple both getting their state pensions along with works pensions even be entitled to pension credits?
Or is the fact that I will only be getting my state pension for 5 or 6 months in the present year already have been taken into account?
And is a state pension a works or personal pension?

Your State Pension is not a works or private pension and the DWP will know how much your State Pension is and will adjust any Pension Credit which may be due to you.0

as soon as your claim to state pension is processed they should send notificiation to Pension Credits, payment may stop after 4 weeks of you turning 65 if not on system as this should flag up if state pension has been claimed or not. the notificaiton would be based on the current information and not with your state pension, if you do not hear anything leading up to your birthday regarding a change in your entitlement then give them a quick call0
