Antipollution fault
Hi all, Hope someone can help!
I have a 2004 Peugeot 307 diesel 2.0 HDi 90 and the other day the warning "antipollution fault" came up. this comes on everytime I start the engine, but has not caused the car to become sluggish as I see others have experienced. I am a little confused about what this could be by reading other forums as there are variations on car model. Can someone help/advise/put my mind at ease? Is there anything I can do to stop this happening or help the situation?
Thanks in advance!

If you mainly do short local journeys, try taking it for a good 50-60 mile blast driving it like you stole it. Short journeys where things don't have the chance to get warmed up blocks up particulate filters and is generally not good. A run out once a week helps stop this.
It could also be if the car is fitted with an EGR valve that this is non-functional due to being gummed up with oily carbon deposits.0 -
Try resetting the system. If the light pops up again, then you have a problem. For me, most lights or error codes have been random and can be solved by simply resetting them. Every time I jack up the car to change a wheel or the oil, my dash lights up like a Christmas tree. Reset solves it.0

It's the DPF that will either be blocked up, in need of regeneration or the Eloys fluid is low.0

Most likely it's the DPF as said above.
Folloy Hammy's advice and give it a good old "Italian tune-up" to get the exhaust system nice and hot so it can burn off all the carbon deposits clogging up the DPF and see if that fixes it.0 -
Thank you all, i'll take it for a blast later to see if that helps.
Adams1, how would I reset the system? Can anyone do it?
If taking it for a run doesn't work, would it be an expensive problem to fix?
Thanks, Netty07060 -
Blast down the motorway for 10 mins in 4th gear, this may clean out any crap in the filter.
however, it might just be the fluid is low and needs topping up.0 -
Did 2.0 HDI 90's even have DPF?..........0

morning all, took the car out last night for a road trip (went to Portsmouth and back, about 100 miles in total) and still got the fault warning, any further suggestions?
