Helllo,
I've had a Dell XPS M1530 laptop for 3 years now, and the battery is totally dead. I have to press F1 when launching the system to proceed as there is no battery even detected!!
If I was to buy a battery from dell, it would cost 100+ (think around 130), but if I were to buy an unofficial one, it would cost me less than 40.
My question is, should I go for the official one, or will the non official ones be just as good? Over 100 for a battery would go a long way towards a new laptop anyway!!
Thanks,
Jay

The Dell battery will last longer than the aftermarket ones in my experience. When buying the aftermarket ones, you have to be careful as the laptop talks to the battery and if it doesn't get the reply expected, it says there's not one installed. Always ask if it is 100% compatible.0
