Tesco late payment con

Morning!

I dont know how this forum works so forgive me if Im on the wrong page! however, juswt thought I would share something with folk on here. Beware of your statements from tesco for last month. Their system didnt cope with the royal wedding bank holiday - and didnt pick up Direct debit payments on time ( their fault) as result their system has charged everyone £12 late payment fee!!!! I was on to phone with them this morning cause I pay attention to statements - but many out there dont! so - just worth checking and get on the phone for refund!!!!

Do you mean credit card statements? Maybe this should be moved to the CC board?

    Sounds like it...

Not many things get you into trouble like late fees for Credit Cards.

    Hi Mel1gib,

Welcome to MSE :) You should get more response to your thread on the credit card board so I've moved your thread over there.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.

I hoped you checked with Tesco this will not appear on your credit report as a late payment.

Not everyone? My minimum payment Direct debit was collected on the 28th as usual which obviously didn't fall on the affected dates. Even if the date had coincided with a Bank Holiday/weekend then the payment is taken as soon as possible afterwards.
But for any who have been charged because of this, yes a timely warning.

how come if youre close to the time limit on paying it can take 4 working days and does, and when youre days from it they do it in 2.

2 months ago i paid in CASH thinking i had allowed 4 working days, guess what they counted the day in even though it was at 10 in the morning held it for 2 days at the weekend and then hit me for charges, and again the next month for more interest. do it on the phone by debit card and it takes 2 days. Bankers. the lot of them
