Well given that Ladybirds is replying to a thread/question where the OP has stated that in their returns policy they do accept returns on non faulty items rather than just a general discussion about consumer rights then IMO its a fair assumption that she is basing her information on this particular scenario.

Given what Ladybird says in the post we're both referring to, I wouldn't rely on any of the information she gives.......in any context.

Anyone able to post the full terms and conditions of the OP's purchase?

Did i read somewhere that they have said they would accept the return if the jacket if the tags were present but were not attached? If so would it not be possible to have someone else try on the jacket in the changing room in the shop and remove the tags off that jacket and give them to you so you can return it?

May break a few laws? but it could get you the jacket returned. (may be even how your jacket ended up without tags on!) I'm not recommending breaking the law by :o

    Oh dear..!

If the jacket was sold without tags, could that be described as faulty?
In which case the OP would have a legal right to return the jacket.

Whose responsibility would it be, in that case, to prove it? Would the OP have to prove there were no tags, or would the shop have to prove that there were tags?

if their return policy states that as long as you return the item as it was sold to you within the 14 day period, did the assistant say she cut the tags off before or after you paid for it?
