DLA taking 3 months

My son is in reciept of LRM and MRC. After a visit from the OT I contacted the DLA and asked for a change of circumstances review as my son has got worse.
They have had his form for 3 months now and no one has even looked at it!
I have rang them and they said there is a backlogue and any payment will be back dated but thats not the point.
He needs a blue badge and without HRM our council (oxfordshire) is likely to refuse several times.
Any idea what I can do about the DLA?

I would say to call once a fortnight - the more people call for updates, the more staff are taking calls rather than processing claims. DLA are good at sending out updates without prompting.
OP, the problem is that the system is so clogged up by everybody and anybody claiming, that genuine claims/ renewals are being delayed. Have you taken advice as to whether you will qualify for HRM? The difference between that and LRM is vast.Gone ... or have I?0 -
I called them 9 days ago and they stated that it hadn't been looked at.
The OT advised trying for higher rate. A lady from the carers centre came out to help me fill out the forms, she came back a week later to see what support we were receiving as she was so concerned by his level of need. She beleives he will get higher rate care as well as mobility.
I will try to call them on Monday, once my sisters wedding weekend is overn:)Debt free date 23rd march 2009 🥳Autism is my super power 🏳️🌈 🌈✨0 -
Mine took ages to get reviewed, think I was heading towards about 5 months before it finally got dealt with.
It's no ideal but it's just one of those things I am afraid0 -
Phone the DLA yesterday, my claim is now with the assessor and they will write to me as soon as they have a decision:oDebt free date 23rd march 2009 🥳Autism is my super power 🏳️🌈 🌈✨0

It is worth applying for a blue badge and they will contact your doctor and can issue one on that basis. You could write on the form that you are waiting to hear back from DLA. I did that last time I was waiting for a renewal decision and I got my blue badge no problems.0 -
