Working for a Company in the R.O.I and a mobile worker

Hi, i may hopefully be gaining employement with a company based in the republic of ireland,i am classed as a moblile worker as my job will be a driver, so regular trips to other countries in the euro zone will be the norm, but i will still live in the uk (when i'm home)
Advice is needed, as my wages would be paid into my bank in local currency (euro) for the company, my current bank will charge me for this on top of exchange rates, then i would get charged again if i needed to withdraw cash or make purchases on my debit charge,

the 2 options i can come up with are as follows

1, open a personal international currency current account here in the uk (risk of bank charges, & services provided that i don't want or need)
2, open a basic personal current account at a irsh bank, have my wage paid into that which would also give me a debit card,for withdrawing cash & purchases in countries that euro is local currency this would be free in most cases, and i could also register with the post office for international money transfares which they provide without fees as they use the SEPA

System unlike most uk banks, they would exchange it into stirling then foward it into my uk current account

is there any better easyier ways of doing this without the banking system robbing my hard earned wonga?
