Im thinking of buying a ipad 2 mostly for use at home and for traveling on the train. I cant decide whether to just get one with wifi as i will mostly be using it at home or if i should go for wifi and 3g.

What do over moneysavers recommend? :j

As a moneysavingexpert save your money , talk or sleep on the train, or better still spend your journey finding something to spend the money I just saved you. Edited, ps don't forget what I saved you on insurance premiums too

Buy a Kindle read a book on the train.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • You can use 3g mobile network(Almost everywhere with network coverage you will have internet access, but paid) when you are traveling on the train. But that i can recommend you to buy a cheaper tablet for everyday use. Archos for example. Yes , Ipad 2 battery and Dual Core Cpu is awesome but Adroid is more flexible wit a lot of free apps.

Skip the 3g - it will cost you more and probably not be worth it. If you're not planning on surfing on the train (not exactly a consistent signal) then I wouldn't bother with it.
I'm an iPad widow so I have accepted the inevitable :D We used the 3g on the first one about 5 times (bought it around launch date) before getting the ipad 2 (sans 3g)

Not a bad idea if you don't plan on watching any videos; it's got a built-in web browser and better battery life than any tablet. The only worthwhile alternative I can think of is the Asus Transformer...

I think the iPad2 can be linked to an iPhone to use 3g if you have one of those. Alternatively in the future if you find you need 3g you could buy a Mobile Hotspot, think Three sell em.
