  • Thanks - what number did you call?

Should it be Virgin or Phones4U?
  • Answering myself - I phoned Virgin who told me that they have system issues with these and are working through a backlog and the credit should be there shortly.

Sounds like excuses, but not desperate for it, as long as it comes, so will check again at end of week.

Exactly the same problem as well with Virgin. Phoned on 31/01 and twice since. Last time threatened them with Trading Standards. They say they have too many (thousands) to put the money on manually. Trying to fix a glitch in the system. Do we believe them ?

  • Likewise. Several emails and telephone calls. Initially promised within 24 hours. Not received. Then told the matter is with "technical department". Telephoned again, told should not have been told 24 hours. Three weeks on, no sign of it. Second payment due soon.

Phoned them again yesterday as the 1st £10 of £30 still had not been put on the phone !! (Due end January). Asked to speak to a manager and finally got through to someone who had some authority and ALL OF THE £30 paid in one lump as of yesterday !! A result, but it took several phone calls to achieve it. I have to send a copy of my receipt from Phones 4U as confirmation.

  • Raised stakes via email and received full (£30) credit. Why this was not resolved with initial complaint is surprising for a company with such a focus on customer service...:j .
  • Just called them today about the January payment.

I am sure that the guy who answered the phone must have been instructed not to put the offer through unless absolutely necessary - eventually got £10 credited - he told me the next payment will go through automatically - I told him I didn't believe him and he said if it didn't to phone back.

Guy pretended to know nothing of the offer - I told him about earlier call and recorded message tht told you about problems - he then told me they had had a lot of calls on this.
Guy told me £20 had to be put on to get offer - I disputed.
Told me phone hadn't been used since December - untrue.
Asked for IMEI number (which I had as first time I called I didn't and got nowhere), said phone wasn't valid for offer - I disagreed.
Told me I hould call phones 4 u - said why was I told in early Feb wen I called that it would come through.

Basically they are trying to get out of the offer by hoping people give up.
