How much do plants sell for at car boot sales?
As it says on the tin really
I have oodles of tomato plants and am considering doing a car boot sale on Sunday & selling the ones I don't want there now I've given lots already away to friends and family!
How much would you pay for a tomato plant or how much do you sell them for if you do?
I have lots of gardeners delight, some hundreds & thousands and a few Alicante (these ones are HUGE!).
Thanks

Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

I was at a car boot on Sunday and they were selling some at 3 for a £1.
They weren't very old ones though so maybe it depends how 'advanced' they are?
I'm not sure what type they were sorry.Redundancy isn't fun - comping is!

I think it depends how big they are and what the opposition is like. Have a walk round and see what other people are selling. For big ones, I don't think a £1 is too much, but 50p or 75p each seems more reasonable for the rest.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0

I bought some tomato plants (good strong plants, but still fairly small, around 6" high) at the carboot on Sunday for 45p each or 3 for £1.20. The stall had Alicante, Moneymaker or Gardeners Delight. I also bought a ridge cucumber for 60p.
There were several stalls selling tom plants, all priced about the same. I went with the healthiest looking ones rather than the largest. If there are other sellers there, I would think you would be unlikely to get more than about 50p a plant. Garden centres round here sell them for around £1 a plant upwards, or possibly slightly less in a multipack of 6+0 -
50p per plant is about right i reckonsaving money by growing my own - much of which gets drunk
made loads last year :beer:0 -

I think 50p is about the price i would pay - If desperate to get rid of a stock of them i would say 50p or 6 for £2.00 for example.
I would happily buy 6 plants for £2 without thinking where they are going to grow:o:rotfl:***MSE...My.Special.Escape***0
