When we turn on out taps on full anywhere in the house there is an awful clanging noise. It is really loud. It does not happen if the tap is turned on half way. I blame my husband (this is normal;)) because I believe it started when he replaced taps in two rooms.
Can anyone tell me the cause of this awful noise....and the remedy?

Hi,
I will assume you have mains water to these taps, and that it is cold only that gives the noise. There was no problem prior to the taps being changed.
Loose washer in the main stopcock.Replace washer.
Any other information would narrow down the possibilities.
Turning down the stopcock is not the answer.

outrageous hi-jack i know, but what would be the main culprit for a clanging noise on a hot tap? The hot ones in my kitchen, utility and a bathroom all started doing this almost simultaneously and cant pin point it! Only happens when the taps are turned off quick (they're not screws). Its !!!!ing me off now and this thread jogged my memory! :-)0
