I am, which is why I came to look and see what I could find.
Not bothered about them knowing what we're watching and tbh most of the web stuff is fine, but I was wondering about security especially for those of us that do internet banking, etc.
Sure, the extra points would be good, but not sure if it's worth the worry over security. Think I'll try to dig a little further before I decide whether or not to sign up.
Anyone any thoughts regarding things like passwords, etc when it comes to them monitoring the web usage?0 -
I read the t and c, and sure they said the software they use does not record passwords. It just records that you visited the bank website. Think they are more interested in what shopping sites you visit, like amaxon, play, tesco, etc.0

The fact that you don't know what is being tracked on your pc, i.e passords for banking etc. Obviously if I am that worried, then I won't sign up for it, I was just asking for people's opinions on this!Money, money, money, must be funny, in the rich man's World!0 -

Me being a sceptic, I'm thinking, well, it wouldn't say 'we are tracking your passwords' but how do we really know what they will really be tracking? Can we believe them when they say they won't? :eek:Money, money, money, must be funny, in the rich man's World!0 -
I really don't see what the folks at TNS would have to gain from obtaining your banking or email passwords--they are interested in monitoring advertising, for their clients. The tech explained to me that the whole point of this is to see what ads you are exposed to on TV, and how it related to your shopping/ad exposure online.
They stand to make a lot more money by sending ad data to their clients than engage in risky and illegal activity like hacking your email/accounts. It just makes sense.
If you are very worried it is explained in the fine print that any browsing done on a "guest," "private," or "under 18" account will not be recorded. These buttons can be selected before you log in.
As for the TV moniter, it works like one of those "identify the song" apps....it doesn't actually record sound apparently, but picks up on digital cues to recognize what ads and etc are playing on the TV.0 -
I've just been invited to join food on the go! So now I do shop and scan, the web and Tv monitor, consumer pulse and food on the go.
