Life insurance - forgot to mention 'investigation' I had

Hi all
We changed our life insurance last year and got free critical illness cover with it. During the application process we filled in the relevant forms and were questioned on our medical history and I told all I could remember. Now I have remembered a small investigation I had at hospital which wasn't taken further - partly as they did not think there was a problem and partly as I fell pregnant. I have had no problems since so I guess they were right. I didn't mention it during application as I had honestly forgotten all about it.
Anyway, I am now worried that should the worst happen and I need to make a claim, the company will refuse payment even if my claim has nothing to do with the investigation. Do I phone and tell them or leave it?
Any advice much appreciated
Thanks

Are you sure?
Normally terminal illness cover is free but Critical Illness cover is usually 2 to 5 times more in cost than the life assurance premium. It seems unlikely that they would give that free.Anyway, I am now worried that should the worst happen and I need to make a claim, the company will refuse payment even if my claim has nothing to do with the investigation. You should make them aware of it. Their redraws dept will take a look and make a decision.
you should also check the critical illness cover is actually CI and not TI. If its wrong you may find it easier just to set up a new plan.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). As Dunston said, i would be very surprised you have got free Critical Illness cover - although, in saying that i seem to remember LV offering a small amount of some time of cover when it was taken out along side something else - which is a little vague i know.
Anyway, depending on what the questions said and when the investigations were you could be ok. Sometimes it will ask "in the last x number of years has any of the below happened" - if it was outside of those years you will be ok. If it wasnt then you need to tell them.
I worked for a life office up until earlier this year as an account manager. I had a case whereby someone lost a lot fo weight and was not far off deaths door. The Drs tested everything that could ever be tested and could not find anything abnormal - Just because they couldnt find anything wrong, doesnt mean that there is/was nothing wrong with him. Because the Drs cant diagnose it means they can not say whether it will re-occur or not.
Im not trying to scare you but to see it from the insurers PoV - how can you insure this person if you havnt got a clue what could happen in the future.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
