I have been doing this for a few years and the wins ratio has radically decreased over the past 18 months for most people I know. There are a lot more people entering and there are not so many of the top end competitions (all effects of the credit crunch I'm sure). Everyone has dry spells and its possible to not win anything for 3 months and then win something nearly every day for a month!

It's worth adding that some people on here would enter a comp to the opening of an envelope and literally enter everything - and then decide what to do with the prize if and when they get it. Personally, I don't have the time or inclination for these shenanigans I enter for things I would really like or for a gift for a close family member or friend. I don't enter competitions multiple times and have still had some lovely wins including 2 ipads already this year and I enter about 1500-1800 a month. I don't post in IWIWIW anymore and pm the OP's my thanks - I'm always grateful to all who post.

Hi All,

Thank you all very much for the encouraging replies. Its not that i dont enjoy coming on here and entering comps its just a shame i never seem to win when i do see alot of people saying they have won, but again understand that if there was a board for losers it would easily be more than that.

Im still going to enter loads of comps and hopefully soon i will be lucky i spose i was mainly seeing if others out there won or if im just an unlucky person.

Thank you again for your replies and fingers crossed we will all win some big comps (or little will do for me he he) soon

I am quite lucky with my wins, generally winning a prize every couple of days, not massive wins, but gratefully received, and enough to keep me going. Saying that, I have NEVER won an "instant win" contest!!!

Yes it is normal, don't be too disheartended. Like Dans_Girl says its a dry spell - we all have em. I had a dry spell in comps for about 4 months then all of a sudden won 2 prizes so keep on entering and you'll win soon I can feel it

Keep going is all I can say. I started comping properly in January and since then the majority of my wins have come from Facebook comps (I've hardly won anything from standard entry comps online i.e. just filling in entry forms etc).

it think depends on lady luck i dont count how many i enter but know i spend roughly the same amount of time entering last mnth i won 3 things yet nothing yet for may but there are things i dont want to win so dont enter for
hope lady luck,comping fairy or randem.org makes u win something nice soon

For me I still get excited at the thought I might win... each time I enter something. When I lose that then its time to stop.
