Hello All,
Hope all is well, also hoping its ok to post this in here.
I have now been entering comps since the start of the year. I have now entered over 2000 which have been and gone and i have only won once. Is this normal? or am i just very very unlucky?
Just i see loads of people on here winning stuff and just wish i was as lucky as some other people
Cheers
Carl

Be patient. Everyone has a dry spell. It is all down to luck whether you win or not, but you've got to be in it to win. Keep on entering and hopefully some Good Luck will come your way!#5 HAPPY CHAPPY'S GLITCH & B!TCH PUB  :beer:0

Hi Carl
That seems about right to me. I enter, on average, 1000 a month and win probably once every other month something?
If you're not into the fun of comping, it really isn't worth it to do it. It takes a lot of time and effort to win something really small!
Those that win loads, probably enter almost every single competition on this site and spend hours and hours a day entering.
Then there are the incredibly jammy people... but they are few and far between.
Chin, up, keep entering and you shall win something soon :beer:Each generation imagines itself to be more intelligent than the one that went before it, and wiser than the one that comes after it.0 -
Dont be too disheartened wins can be few and far between, but if you don't enter you will never win. Entering 2000 comps in 4 months averaging 500 a month is not really a huge amount if you think that some people enter 200+ a day. Also bear in mind that this winners thread can give the impression that everyone is winning and not you, however if this was a thread for people who hadnt won anything today it would be about 50 times as long. Enjoy the entering and then wins when they come along are a bonus. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Birmingham Childrens Hospital caring for my tiny and very poorly grandson who was born at 29 weeks. Thanks to them he is getting a little stronger every day.:A:A:A0

do you do facebook ones - so many chances to win - ok they may only be small sometimes but I personally love postman coming with unannounced packages
Kettle crisps and things
do regular ones as well - grants whisky - loadsa wins of glasses lol
got to be innit to winnit - keep going0 -
No idea why some people do so well and don't think its just the amount you enter though that does increase your chances! Some people take a break when they get fed up and come back to wins and some of us just can't stop ourselves from trying no matter how little we win! Hopefully your one of those that is building up their luck for later in the year or maybe a big win is on its way :0 wishing you the best of luck and try to remember some of the things people win you wouldn't enter anyway and the popular ones must have so many entries its bound to be harder to get a win!0

Hi hun, sorry to hear you're not having too much luck lately.
I think Taloolah is completely right, that if we had an I haven't won, I haven't won thread it would be ten times longer each day. Also alot of people do give up a lot of their free time to this hobby, I enjoy entering so I spend a few hours a day entering and enter roughly 4000/5000 a month but I don't have as much time as more dedicated compers.
If you are feeling a bit down about the lack of wins I notice that the instant wins are great, and facebook and twitter competitions seem to make up quite a few of peoples win lists for the month. I am useless with both facebook and twitter, as I am sure many are, so the odds are very good.
If you have the time then you could try the effort comps as they tend to have less entries or competitions that offer hundreds of prizes.
There are so many people entering competitions these days as well, when you look at the thanks on each competion it may say something like 300 thanks for example, in reality ten times the amount will have entered ie 3000 if not more.
I sometimes am in awe that we have so many winners here and feel truly lucky to have had any wins this year when I look at it all like that.
Hope your luck turns around for you soonComping wishlist for 2017

Hiya
Just keep trying and don't give. I've had a pretty dry year so far though I have won tickets to the rugby twice, tickets to the bbc classical musical awards and cinema tickets to the IMAX cinema - but due to circumstances have had to give all these away. It's the little prizses that keep me going at the moment but hopefully there will be one that i can enjoy soon and I too wish you the best of luck.0 -
I am an one of those who cant stop trying and hardly win anything its just a hobby to me as why just sit in front of the TV when you can do that and enter comps at the same time
I enter every competition with a prize I would like to win and spend hours each day without fail doing this so dread to think how many I have entered over the last five years as I started comping in 2007. The best win I have had was in 2007 for £1500 Ikea vouchers and then in 2008 I won a beauty hamper worth £550 and no luck since then. I must admit though that there are lots more entries for each competition now than there used to be 4-5 years ago
I do think its luck of the draw and remember if your not in it you will never win it - I read the winners page every day for inspiration as it keeps me going and it does seem like lots of people are winning but there are lots of others like me who are not winning and just wishing0 -
Hi,I know exactly how u feel,I havent had a win since last Aug! getting really fed up and feel like quitting but its so addictive and as Hubby says u have to be in it to win it!0
