Hi everyone, i picked up the kittens last friday as my husband's friend said he couldnt cope with 4 kittens, the mum+ the dad, anyway we went and picked them up....Here is where everything starts...

I think one of them is not going to the tray, i find poo and wee all over the carpet, they are not allow in my front room anymore, there is no door in my kitchen and they seem near my little carpet in the front door, i went and bought another tray cos i thought that may be the problem, well i found the ginger cat pooing and peeing outside it... i dont know what to do, spent my whole day cleaning the house of this awful smell as my in laws were coming over, i feel tired and a bit annoyed to be honest, i asked for them to be fully trained before bringing them home, and obviously they are not.

Oh dear - very irresponsible/selfish previous owners

confine them to one room with food at one end & litter box at another & a warm box or with a blanket to sleep inside somewhere near the food, with scratching posts etc. With no door you will have to consider buying a cheap one or picking up large piece of mdf & barricading the doorway so they can't `escape' to the rest of the house (where carpets are). When you find `mistake's pick up kitten & show it that then scoop it up & put in litter tray, digging a hole & then using kittens paws to cover it.

Might be useful to buy a cheap piece of lino/vinyl if all your rooms are carpetted to minimise your elbowgrease.

when we first brought Sammy cat home as a kitten we also confined him to one room, his litter tray, scratching post, bed (which he never even sat on, never mind slept on ;)) and food/water bowls were in there with him. Once he got used to using the litter tray (he was very well trained by his mum before we got him) then we let him gradually out into other rooms of the house.
