in Techie Stuff
Hello Techies
Can I pick your brains please? I have been vaguely on the hunt for a netbook for a while now but every time I research it I get too bogged down in all the detail and end up leaving it alone. I'm after something small (obviously) for portable use around the house - web surfing, iplayer, email etc., all of the other major stuff is covered by my home office pc.
So any top tips for a purely frivolous netbook purchase? Wouldn't want to fork out anymore than £300, preferably less - I am not in ipad frivolous territory here! Would like Windows 7 etc for compatibility...
Feedback much appreciated

The Samsung models have a good reputation, something like an N150 will easily be in your budget.====0

I've got a N150 plus
If you get one, make sure you get the model with the dual-core N550 processor rather than the older N450 single core. The dual-core ones are at around £250 (depending on which colour your pick) so should leave you some change to get extra RAM (under £20 for 2GB DDR3 RAM) which is super easy to swap in the Sammy.

Lots of special offers around at present. Curry Digital (assume PC World also) have Samsungs at around £230. You can even get the Samsung in Argos these days.0

Here's another vote for the Samsung nc models, my wife has the NC10 and I have the nc10 plus, which gives around 8 hours use on a battery charge and does everything I need it to, Current price £200-250 ish Handy site for owners http://www.sammynetbook.com/forum/.Every day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm WELSH. .0
