In one property we have a BT Home network setup, with a computer, and a BT ethernet router. (I dont know the make)
and a few laptops there, which pick up the Wireless signal, and work.
I have another computer, in another property. This computer is in another house, connected to the virgin internet (D-link routeR) using the ethernet wire.
What I want
I wish to bring another computer into this house, which has No card, or anything to pickup the signal.
To Bring this new computer into this new BT Setup, do I have to:
a) Buy an wirless card?- install the software from CD, let it pick up the BT singal?
b) Buy a USB card? - install the software from CD, let it pick up the BT singal?
c) Can i connect an Ethernet cable, to the LAPTOP <==> to the computer.....and let the Internet access to the computer from the laptop.
d) Can I use my D-LINK virgin broadband router, and bring it into the BT Broadband setup?
e) Would i need a network Key/number in each case, a,b,c,d
any other things I need to do, or have overlooked?
The computer using the Virgin broadband, is connected to the D-link router via an ethernet card.
The bt network in the house is connected using a bt router, connected ==> one main computer, using an ethernet cable.
then the 2 laptops pick up the signal.
To clarify
House 1 = BT Router, connected to line via Ethernet cable (connected via ethernet cable) + there are 2 laptops used wirelessly.
House 2 = Virgin internet, D-link router. One computer (connected via ethernet cable)
I want to Connect the Computer from House 2, to House 1. How would I do it?

If its a desktop computer connect it to the home hub using ethernet.
If you locating the at some distance from the router use a pair of homeplugs.
No software required.
Why have you started this thread twice?

The desktop PC can be conected by ethernet, by wireless USB, by wireless PCI card, or Homeplugs. In each case you will need the relevant kit (except for ethernet, since your PC presumably already has an ethernet port). the latter is by far the easiest method if the new PC is near the router.
For any wireless connection you will need to enter the existing encryption key.
You don't need to move your VM router, which will be for VM cable connections anyway. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Sorry, I posted the thread twice, as i think i posted it in the wrong section, the first time.
NB - The Computer will be in the same Area/distance as the others...(which is about 2 rooms away) - so within the same property.0
