1st Class - what do you actually get
Hi,
I'm organising a trip for 9 people from Chesterfield to London and I am eyeing up the cheap 1st class tickets on East Midlands Trains.
I've worked out that for £2pp extra each way, we can travel in 1st class. I know it is worth it for the extra leg room alone, as we will then be travelling onwards on Eurostar [sadly in standard class).
We're travelling down on a Sunday at either 1029 or 1041 and returning on a Friday at 1825 or 1855.
What exactly will we expect from 1st Class?
Regards
Alun

Empty Pocket/Wallet, larger seat, complimentary food, drinks and snacks and normally no riff raff/neds/screaming kids but from the East Midlands website;
'Welcome to the best in First Class train travel
Sink back into your seat, stretch your legs and enjoy the more tranquil atmosphere
We’ve upgraded our First Class service. You can now enjoy free WiFi access, fresh milk served with hot drinks and free breakfast snacks (on selected Monday to Friday services). Also, on weekdays dedicated on-board service staff will also ensure your journey is even more comfortable.
There are some great benefits to travelling First Class including more space, less noise, a full range of mouth-watering snacks and light meals, and an at-seat service on most weekday London train services. What more could you wish for?'Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0
