Burn mp3s to CD - size problems.

As a guy with a degree in computing, you would think I should know this, but I have rarely burnt cd's and now need to, but running into a few problems.

I have 20 or so mp3 files from a pod cast downloaded. I want to burn them to a cd so that my gf can listen to in her car. When I select the files in Window media player and put then in the burn list. It separates nearly each file onto multiple discs, rather than keeping them all on one disc. So I will end up with about 18 or so discs at the end of the process, for files which are all about 30 minutes long!!

The total size of the 20 files in mp3 format is 600 mb so I know they can fit onto one cd, but I assume WMP is changing the format to allow it to be played on any CD player - is it wav it uses - which is obviously a lot bigger file size format.

I have burnt a cd with the files in mp3 format and they play fine on her home CD player, but her car doesn't recognise straight mp3 files. So, is there anything I can do to allow the files to fit onto one disc, and be playable in a normal cd format?

Thanks

from what i know, and i could be wrong here, is that if her CD player in her car will not read mp3 format you will have to burn them off as a normal audio file which doesnt go on file size more it goes on length, since most CD's come in 60-80 min formats i would expect if each is 30 mins long you should be able to fit 2 onto each CD therefore making it only 10 CD's,

this being said that is what i would have expected WMP to do and if they are saying 18 disks i wouldnt be suprised if the pod casts in general are closer to 40 mins long than 30 which could mean you would only be able to fit one on each disk (in the most part)

you could look at putting them on a MP3 player and buying one of those FM transmitter attachments which encodes the signal into radio so you only have to tune her radio to pick it up

on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

If the cd player in the car can read mp3 cd's then make sure you are buring a data cd and not an audio cd in windows media player.

Click on the little arrow under "burn" for the options.

Try iTunes. And don't worry about having a degree in computing, My cousin has a computing degree in programming but he can't build or fix computers like me. Just like I can't program like him, different specialists and all that.

You show me one person who knows everything about computers and I'll show you a elephant copulating with a flea.

    Ha!

Cheers all. Interesting. I knew the 80 minute length of the CD was originally set as the inventor wanted to hear Beethovens 9th symphony in one sitting, but didn't realise it tallied so closely with the song length! I thought it was just down to data size. I work in bits and bytes after all!

The car cd player has a audio jack input so think I will get a cheap mp3 player and use that to store and play the files. I should try and get my girlfriend into the 21st century anyway! It would have been easier to just play the cd though!

    Thanks all.

    Try iTunes.

No, do not try itunes, it is the music player from hell.
Unless you have an ipod (etc) you simply don't need itunes. Anything else itunes will just f* up. Itunes has been known to stop DVD/CD drives from working.

WMP is more than adequate for this task.
